Heather Ondersma

Hi! I’m based in San Francisco/NYC, love to travel and able to legally work in Canada. Since 2021 I’ve served as Intimacy Coordinator/Director on approximately 60 projects, including theatrical features such as Companion (New Line/Warner Brothers), Didi and Fairyland  (both appeared at Sundance). Areas of expertise: coming-of-age stories, comic intimacy, horror, working with minors/youth and disabled artists, simulated sex, non-consensual scenes, birthing/lactation scenes and prosthetics.

I began training as an intimacy coordinator in 2019, studying with multiple major training organizations such as Theatrical Intimacy Education (eventually becoming assistant faculty) and Principal Intimacy Professionals, joining their first cohort to be certified. I received my M.A. in drama from U.C. Santa Barbara, and have more than fifteen years experience as a theatre director. I also worked for eight years as a corporate legal proofreader and worked on 30+ film/TV projects in the Health/Safety Department.
